BIM App definition

Region: El Salvador
Industry: Banking

Overview

I led the creation of a new and user-friendly platform for Banco Cuscatlan 's BIM mobile app as the Lead UX Designer. This platform enables seamless money transfers, bill payments, and in-store transactions without the need for credit or debit cards.

The goal was to create a new and distinct app with its own style. It would be released in two phases: first as a web app and later as a native mobile app.

Process

Our BIM journey began with a Discovery Session where we engaged stakeholders to understand user needs, business objectives, and the competitive landscape. This helped us gain a deeper understanding of the project. Armed with these insights, we meticulously crafted an information architecture that laid the foundation for a user-centric design approach. Using low-fidelity wireframes, we translated our conceptual framework into tangible representations, allowing us to visualize the app's structure and flow. This iterative process facilitated early feedback and ensured alignment with project goals.

In the UI phase, we created a visual design that aligned with our brand identity and evoked the desired emotions. Each element was meticulously crafted. From color palettes to typography choices, every decision was made with the user experience in mind. To facilitate seamless communication and alignment, we developed specific flows for various user actions, enabling clear visualization of the app's functionality and interactions. Despite encountering initial challenges with branding, we navigated through multiple iterations, leveraging user feedback and stakeholder input to refine and elevate the design.
